Yesterday, I had a very interesting day. Because it was the Saturday after camp, I was planning on sleeping in until at least noon. But I woke up at 7:30 in the morning with pink eye! Ugh. Well, that night the Mikusows came over for a while and we played badminton. (I was half asleep the entire time.)
My dad walked over to our flower bed and told me that my cat had a snake. At first I didn't believe him, but, sure enough, my little white cat was sitting on a garter snake . . . and it was still alive! Mr. Vinny took his badminton racket, picked the snake up, & threw it at me. I screamed so loud that I had a sore throat. Well, my dad told Kyle to go get his pellet gun (I was thinking more like a shotgun, a .22, or something). I took pictures of it, Kyle shot it, & my mom chopped it's head off!
I had one more scare that night. I let Jet in for the night, went to my room, and waited for him to come back. I noticed that he snuggled really close to me, closer than normal. Well, I started petting him and he started growling at me. At first I didn't think anything of it. He does it all the time. But when he was still growling after I had stopped petting him, I knew something was wrong. One of the first thoughts that crossed my mind was rabies. But I just ignored it and went to sleep. At 1 A.M., I woke up and he was growling at me again. Now I was sure he had rabies, and that scared me. One of my first thoughts was "I sleeping with a rabid cat in my bed!" Very scary. I woke up my mom and she came in to look at him and she agreed with me. My little boy had rabies. My dad got up and tried to get him to get up. When he did, I saw that he was limping pretty badly. I just hadn't seen it when I let him in. I can't describe the relief I felt when I realized my cat didn't have rabies. I scooped him up and went back to bed.
So, since camp, I still haven't caught up on my sleep. I didn't think it was possible to be more tired than I was on Friday! This morning in church choir, we were about to sing a congregational before the choir sang. I was listening to the introduction on the piano to figure out what song it was to see if I needed the hymnal or not. I took me a minute to realize it was The Star-Spangled Banner! That's how tired I am. So, I'm gonna go relax, watch a movie, & maybe take a nap!
